The Medical School in Pécs organized the cyclists’ breakfast this year as well
September 16, 2025
Traditionally, the UP Medical School invites its students and colleagues who commute by bicycle to breakfast in September. This year was no different, with refreshments and information stands awaiting cyclists on 16 September, from 7:30 a.m. at the main entrance of the Medical School.
The aim of the program organized by the English-German Student Committee (EGSC) and the Student Council (HÖK) in the frame of the European Mobility Week was to raise awareness of safe transport, highlight the health benefits of cycling, and emphasize that cycling is good for the planet because it reduces harmful emissions.
During the event, those interested had the opportunity to meet with staff from the Baranya County Police Headquarters and the Baranya County Directorate of Disaster Management. Special emphasis was placed on following the rules while cycling and scooter riding, and attention was drawn to the importance of wearing a helmet. Participants received high-visibility vests, bicycle lights, and useful advice, among other things.
Several international students also visited the police stand, where they could chat freely and ask questions about road traffic regulations. One of them visited the table specifically for the bicycle lights, while another student equipped himself with a high-visibility vest, reflective armbands, and prisms, in addition to the bicycle lights.
